The proposed method for training preschool age children in arithmetic implies the dialogue of the teacher with the children and the combination of the training with game elements. The method is distinctive by that the teaching material is introduced by information blocks. The first information block contains two counting units, and the number of counting units in each following information block increases by 1 comparing with the preceding block until the number of counting units in the information block is 10. Each block of the teaching material is used in three training stages. In the first stage, the teacher presents information by visual and sound elements and assigns arithmetic exercises to the children. In the second stage, each child invents exercises for the other children. In the third stage, the teacher introduces errors in the children's exercises, and these errors are to be detected and corrected by the children. The transition to the subsequent stage will be accomplished only when the children master the teaching material presented in the first stage. The visual and soundelements that are used in the first training stage are presented as real objects, pictures of objects, substitutes of real objects, and imaginary objects.
