The wall or ceiling lining (10) comprises a sub-structure (12) to which is fastened a radiation plate (14), and heat exchange element (20) in heat conducting contact with the rear side of the radiation plate. The heat exchange element is in the form of a pipe carrying heating or cooling medium and is supported by the sub-structure in such a way that it has a degree of freedom of movement perpendicularly to the rear side of the radiation plate. The heat exchange element has spring elements (30) to press it onto the rear side of the radiation plate.
