FIELD: electric arc cutting processes and equipment, namely electrode unit of apparatus for electric arc cutting of metals. ^ SUBSTANCE: electrode unit includes movable base moving in vertical and horizontal directions and supporting electrode holder, electrode and insulator; supports in the form of rectangular washers, vertical plates, clamping screws, holders, cleats (each with lengthwise recess), bolt joints and additional electrode holder, electrode, insulator. In movable base there are two mutually normal non-crossing cutouts into which bolts on supports with vertical plates are inserted. Said vertical plates are joined through bolt joints with holders in which insulators with clamping screws are mounted. Clamping screws brace cleats with lengthwise recesses jointly connected with vertical plates. One holder is provided with dielectric handle; its locking bolt is provided with sleeve for rotating holder around axis. Electrode holders have openings for power supply cables. ^ EFFECT: lowered power consumption, increased cutting speed and thickness of cut metal. ^ 2 dwg |
