The air-bag, which may be located in a seat-belt, has a first frusto-conical inflatable region 14 and an integral second frusto-conical region 16. The second region is tucked inside the first region via a neck portion 15. In this position the second region also functions to deflect gas to the interior of the first region. A gas flow duct 26 passes through an opening 23 in the first region. The duct connects to a gas flow pipe 27 and gas generator 28. The air-bag may be a woven one-piece or formed from two super-imposed layers of fabric interconnected by stitching. The layers may alternatively be interconnected by a releaseable joint such as a tear seam or an adhesive. The air-bag may also be folded or rolled up from a rectangular configuration to fit inside the belt.
