The assembly has an elastically deformable cylinder head (4) with bores for fixing the head to a cylinder block, two lateral vibration dampening devices (8) and a central vibration dampening device. Each device (8) has friction units (20, 22) with supports (24, 26) fixed to the head. The units (20, 22) have friction linings (28, 30) with friction surfaces (32, 34) rubbing against each other during an elastic deformation of the head. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine suspended on a carrying structure such as frame.
