COMPOSITION FOR ORAL CAVITY

A composition for the oral cavity which is effective in the prevention or treatment of periodontal diseases such as gingivitis, paradentitis, and alveolar pyorrhea. The composition for the oral cavity contains an N-acylated derivative of hydroxyproline, such as an N-acetyl derivative, N-propionyl derivative, or N-butyryl or N-isobutyryl derivative, or a salt of the derivative. The composition can be provided as a toothpaste, mouthwash, gingival-massaging cream, etc. which are effective in the prevention or treatment of periodontal diseases.
