A self-cleaning lid (20A) for use with a paint container (1 6A) is described. The self-cleaning lid includes a lid (20A, 20B) defining a pour spout (40A), a cover element (44A) covering the pour spout and movable between a closed state and an open state, and a resilient seal mechanism (354) disposed between pour spout and the cover element. In this regard, the resilient seal mechanism includes an extending member (370) configured to mate with and seal against the pour spout.
