A medical wire having an in-vivo indwelling member connected via a thermo-melting connection member, wherein the in-vivo indwelling member can be positively prevented from contacting the tip en of a conductive wire even when the connection member is deformed. This medical wire comprises a conductive wire and an in-vivo indwelling member connected to the tip end thereof via a thermo-melting connection member, the connection member being heated and fused by being supplied with a high-frequency current via the conductive wire to release the in-vivo indwelling member, characterized in that a non-conductive spacer is provided between the in-vivo indwelling member and the conductive wire to prevent contact between them.
