<p>Bars are arranged in a regular arc between the fixing points, whose height is not more than one third of the radius, the outside of the arc being protected by a layer of thermal insulation. The thermal insulator is preferably also an electrical insulator and covers at least the middle third of the arc. The arcs may be alternately concave and convex. The insulator may usefully be of epoxy resin mixed with asbestos or glass filler. A plasticiser may opt. be included. The bus bars need only a limited pressure applied to the fixing points and compensate for thermal stresses.</p> |
