<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil capable of stably detecting a weak ion current flowing across the electrode of a spark plug. <P>SOLUTION: This ignition coil 1 comprises a cylindrical part 2 inserted into a plug hole in an engine and an ion current detecting function. The cylindrical part 2 comprises, at its axial tip, a plug mounting port for mounting the spark plug. A high-voltage terminal electrically connected to the high-pressure side end part of a secondary coil and a coiled spring in contact with the high-voltage terminal are disposed at the plug mounting port. The cylindrical part 2 comprises, at its axial base end 202, two flange parts 31 projected to the radial outside, and is so formed that bolt insertion holes 311 for inserting bolts are formed in the flange parts 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
