PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve type lead-acid battery suppressing SOC dispersion between cells caused by a temperature variation and a decrease in life caused by the SOC dispersion. SOLUTION: In the control valve type lead-acid battery housing an electrode group in a battery container in which at least three cell rooms 4 are arranged in one line, a space 6 unitedly molded with the battery container and sealed is formed on the side perpendicularly crossed in the cell line direction of the battery container. Preferably, the inside pressure of the space is kept in a pressure reduction state reduced more than atmospheric pressure, or a thermal insulation member 8 such as foamed urethane is arranged in the space.
