<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lithium manganese complex oxide particles which suppress remarkable reduction of initial discharge capacity of a secondary battery by a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery using the lithium manganese complex oxide particle of which the composition is homogeneous, of which the specific surface area is small, and which is excellent in filling characteristics and crystallinity, and which not only can mitigate decrease in the discharge capacity accompanying repetitions of charge and discharge cycles but also can actuate the lithium secondary battery even under high-speed charging and discharging conditions, and provide the positive electrode for the secondary battery as well as the lithium secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: This is the lithium manganese complex oxide particles which are expressed by a chemical formula Li<SB>1+x</SB>M<SB>y</SB>M'<SB>z</SB>Mn<SB>(2-x-y-z)</SB>O<SB>4</SB>(wherein M=Al or Co, M'=Ni, Mg, Cu, Ti, V, Zn, Cr, Fe, Al or Co, 0≤x≤0.05, 0≤z≤y, and 0.02≤x+y+z≤0.4), of which the particle form is spherical, and of which the internal structure has substantially spherical solid particles composed of aggregates of primary particles. The lithium manganese complex oxide particles are obtained by calcination at 650 to 850°C for 1 to 24 hours in the air atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
