<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic separation/recovery apparatus separating and recovering magnetic matter, e.g. chips, contained in a fluid actively through a simple mechanism based on magnetism and permitting more effective separation and recovery of magnetic matter from a fluid based on the relationship between the arrangement of the apparatus and magnetism. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetism in the inside surface area of a cylindrical tube 210 opposing a permanent magnet 203 is set to be ≥2×10<SP>-2</SP>tesla(T) by setting the distance W between the surface of the magnet 203 and the inside surface of the tube 210 to be 43 mm so as to capture reliably a chip 1B contained in a chip-containing cutting oil 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
