<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic application processing method and an electronic application system, not requiring advance registration of an ID password, safely and certainly authenticating an applicant even without remembering a reference number password issued in each application, and allowing operation to the existing application such as correction. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic certificate 101 used for impartment of an electronic signature at the application time by the applicant is stored in an application database 113 together with an application document, and the electronic certificate is transmitted to a server 11 when the applicant performs the operation (the correction or the like) to the existing application. The server 11 searches the application database 113, prepares a list of an application applied by the transmitted electronic application 101, and provides it to the applicant.
