<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for an externally controlled fan clutch, appropriately responding to change in a state of a fan clutch, improving fuel economy and cooling efficiency of an air conditioner (A/C), and suppressing fan noise caused by associative rotation. <P>SOLUTION: The externally controlled fan clutch controls to open/close an oil supply control hole by using a valve member which is operated by an electromagnet. In a control method, the valve member of the externally controlled fan clutch is opened/closed by a PID control (a proportional-derivative-integral feedback control method), based on a radiator coolant temperature, a transmission oil temperature, a vehicle speed, an engine speed, a compressor pressure of the air conditioner, and at least one of an On signal and an Off signal of the air conditioner. In the method, each gain of the PID control is determined from a gain matrix constituted of an optimum fan rotation speed required by an engine side, an actual measurement fan rotation speed, and then the engine speed, and a control signal is output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
