PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator which materializes increase in rotation transmission torque without increase in the size of a device in the radial direction. SOLUTION: An actuator is equipped with a pair of angular bevel gears having the different number of teeth, a supporting means for supporting one of a pair of angular bevel gears so as to be freely whirling movable to the other, a pressing force applying means provided to three or more places in the supporting body so as to implement whirling movement of one angular bevel gear, a control means for supplying fluid to pressing force applying means to be activated and a rotation transmission torque for transmitting only rotation force of the angular bevel gears on a whirling movement side to an output member. The pressing force applying means comprises an elastic film member mounted on the supporting body, three or more fluid chambers sealed therearound with the elastic film member and formed in the supporting body, and a passage for feeding fluid into respective fluid chambers. A radial pressure receiving surface is provided to the angular bevel gear side opposed to the elastic film member. The pressing force of fluid is made to act on the radial pressure receiving surface in a direction having an angle to a direction in which one of angular bevel gears is moved close to and apart from the other angular bevel gear.
