PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyamide-based fiber that exhibits excellent heat resistance and high hygroscopicity and has an improved fiber feeling and to provide a method for producing the polyamide-based fiber at a low cost. SOLUTION: The highly hygroscopic polyamide fiber is a fiber obtained by blending a polyamide 46 with at least one or more kinds of other polymer components in which the other polymer components are composed of at least one or more kinds of polyamide compounds existing in an amorphous state in the fiber and has an endothermic peak temperature of melting temperature measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), appearing only at≥270°C and≥4% water vapor absorption coefficient and excellent heat resistance. The method for producing the highly hygroscopic polyamide fiber having excellent heat resistance comprises mixing a polyamide 46 with a polyamide 6 in the constitution ratio of 65/35-35/65 and spinning the mixture.
