Motor vehicle seat has traction medium which is a movably hinged tension plate (32) struck on catch plate (28). Catch plate is rotatable around a pivot (27) fixed on seat part and has a stop pin (30) in the position of pivot for a latch (22). Latch pivots down by actuation of an easy-entry-handle (16) opposite a curve (24) around a pivot (23), fixed on back rest (3), on catch plate. The latch aligns with a jaw (26) to the stop pin during the folding down of the backrest in the easy-entry-position. The catch plate deviates in a stop position in which the pivots (27,23) of catch plate and latch lie with the stop pin on an exact connecting line. A locking cam (37) is arranged to the catch plate which is coupled with the seat longitudinal position in such a way that it rotates, during pushing forward of the motor vehicle seat in the easy-entry-position, in a position in which it locks the catch plate in its stop position.
