The present invention relates to a method for producing porous ceramic, the method including molding a mixture containing a water absorbent polymer particle, a ceramic raw material, and water, the water absorbent polymer particle having a water absorption amount in a range of 5 to 30 ml/g at a pressure of 980 Pa, and heating and baking the resulting molded product. The water absorbent polymer particle is preferably composed of a polymer having a 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid unit or an acrylamide unit as a constituting monomer unit. <IMAGE> |
