Azo dyestuffs where R is (subst.e alkyl, and X is where R1, R2 are H, alkyl or substituted alkyl; R3 is H, alkenyl, substituted alkenyl, alkyl or alkyl substituted by alkoxy or aryl groups;: A- is an anion. The dyestuffs may be used for dyeing or printing plastics, leather or paper, but esp. fibres of polyacrylonitrile, modified polyamides (eg. those prepared according to BE. 706,104) or modified polyesters (eg. those prepared according to US. 3,379,723). The colours obtained have a good fastness to light, water, washing and dry cleaning.
