A welding torch (12) is mounted on a traveling carrier (11) in a tilted state, supported swingably in a welding direction by a swing arm (79), and supported rotatably in a direction crossing perpendicularly to the welding direction by a rotating arm (81). The drive force of a drive motor (13) for traveling and swinging is selectively transmitted to the swing arm (79) or the rotating arm (81) to enable the traveling carrier (11) to run and the welding torch (12) to swing. The drive force of a drive motor (14) for rotation is transmitted to the rotating arm (81) to enable the welding torch (12) to rotate. An arc sensor control device (15) drives the drive motors (13) and (14) according to the moving position of the traveling carrier (11) to control the tip part of the welding torch (12) to a specified position.
