PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger easily to be assembled, capable of holding surely a vibration damping bar and an element related thereto, in a correct position, and capable of reducing the number of part items in a connection device for connecting the vibration damping bars. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger is provided with: a tube bundle provided with a plurality of U-shaped tubes 10, and arranged with the plurality of tubes 10 in parallel flat tube layers; the plurality of vibration damping bars 15 arranged between the adjacent tube layers to be extended over the tube bundle, in a curved area of the tube layers; and the connection device 20 for connecting outer end parts of the vibration damping bars 15 to form a plurality of assemblies comprising at least two vibration damping bars. The connection device 20 is provided with: combs 21 formed with a plurality of slots 21a for receiving the end parts of the vibration damping bars 15; comb covers 22 for closing a space formed by the slots; and means 23 for fastening the comb covers to the combs, in each of the assemblies of the vibration damping bars juxtaposed on a straight line.
