PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress accumulation of carbon deposits onto a nozzle hole. SOLUTION: A thermo-element 20 for cooling the nozzle hole 6 is arranged on a nozzle body 10, in the direct injection injector 1 having the nozzle hole 6 for directly injecting fuel into the cylinder of an internal combustion engine. The nozzle hole 6 is cooled by flowing current to the thermo-element 20 and a temperature around the nozzle hole 6 is lowered, thereby a fuel chemical reaction rate causing generation of carbon deposits is decreased and accumulation of the carbon deposits onto the nozzle hole 6 is effectively prevented. A cooling thermo-element 31 and a thermo-element 32 for a power supply are arranged in the inside of the direct injection injector 1, and a required cooling current may be supplied from the thermo-element 32 for the power supply to the cooling thermo-element 31.
