PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a film shaped catalyst, having an enough catalyst activity and a little in falling amount of catalyst from a catalyst layer.

SOLUTION: The production method of the film shaped catalyst comprises a step applying a coating containing a synthetic resin of 20-80 parts by mass to a powder catalyst of 100 parts by mass on a supporter to form a film and forming the catalyst layer with a pore volume of 0.5-30 ml/m2.
