PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball joint capable of improving formability of a ball seat and preventing early deterioration and flow from a socket, of the ball seat. SOLUTION: As the ball seal 4 is axially supported by the socket 2 by bringing a receiving portion 47 formed on a lower end portion of the ball seat 4 in a state of gradually increasing its thickness toward a central shaft, into contact with a closed portion 21 formed on an opening portion 13 formed on a lower end portion of the socket 2 in a state of being projected toward the central shaft, the flow of the ball seat 4 from the opening portion 13 of the socket 2 can be prevented. The formability of the ball seat 4 can be improved and strength on an opening portion 13 side of the ball seat 4 can be secured by forming a slit 45 axially from an upper end portion of the ball seat 4, thus early deterioration of the ball seat 4 can be prevented.
