PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment supervisory control system being improved in convenience, in the equipment supervisory control system which supervises and controls equipment by using electronic mail. SOLUTION: The equipment supervisory control system 1 is equipped with a conversion table in which operation states of equipment 2 and arbitrary character strings for reading and converting the operation states are registered while made to correspond to each other, a function for controlling the equipment to be controlled 2 into an operation state judged the operation state of equipment 2 made to correspond to a character string from the conversion table, when electronic mail wherein control information is described by the character string is received, and a function for describing supervision information by the character string corresponding to the operation state registered the operation state of the equipment to be supervised into the conversion table, when reply electronic mail containing the supervision information is sent in response to electronic mail requesting the supervision information.
