PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid dynamic bearing capable of effectively preventing infiltration of adhesive agent to a clearance between a sleeve and a shaft in adhering the sleeve and a cover, reducing the number of adhering processes of the sleeve and other components, and thereby improving its reliability. SOLUTION: Oil repellent layers 14A, 14B are respectively formed near boundaries of a lower recessed portion 2A and an upper recessed portion 2B at both end faces of the sleeve 2. The shaft 1, the sleeve 2, a flange 3, a thrust plate 4A, a cover 4B and a hub 5 are fitted to each other, and the adhesive agent G is applied to a boundary between an upper end face of the hub 5 and an upper face of the cover 4B. When the whole components fitted to each other are heated, the adhesive agent G infiltrates to clearances among the components. However the adhesive agent GB infiltrating to the clearance between an upper end face of the sleeve 2 and a lower face of the cover 4B is repelled by the upper oil repellent layer 14B, and the adhesive agent GA infiltrating to the clearance between a lower end portion surface of the sleeve 2 and an upper face of the thrust plate 4A is repelled by the lower oil repellent layer 14A.
