<p>A carton (200) for enclosing cylindrical articles (C) includes a dispenser that provides access to at least two endmost articles (C1, C2) in an uppermost row, and to at least one article (C3) in a lowermost row, when fully loaded. The dispenser is defined by a substantially contiguous severance line (140) that extends across the top wall (108), side walls (104, 106), and end wall (202a). The dispenser is opened by tearing the severance line (140) to define a stopper wall (208) and a recess (204, 206) in each side wall (104, 106) that, at its lowest point (P), is spaced at a distance above the bottom wall (102/110) less than half the height of the carton (200), with the dimensions and position of the recess (204, 206) being sufficient to expose at least part of the ends of one or more lowermost articles (C3). Each side wall portion of the severance line (140) meets the end wall portion at a distance above the bottom wall (102/110) no less than half the height of the carton (200).</p> |
