POLARIZING PLATE PROTECTIVE FILM, POLARIZING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate protective film which is manufactured by a melt casting method without using a solvent during film formation and which results in less deposition contamination on a lip of an extruder, to provide a polarizing plate having excellent durability and high long-term contrast by using the above polarizing plate protective film, and to provide a liquid crystal display apparatus using the polarizing plate.

SOLUTION: The polarizing plate protective film is produced by a melt casting method using a melt prepared by heating and melting a film forming material containing at least one kind of plasticizer and a cellulose resin. The protective film contains 0.1 to 40 ppm residual sulfuric acid content of the cellulose resin (in terms of sulfur element content) and 1 to 30 mass% non-phosphate plasticizer.
