PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a tertiary cycloalkyl (meth)acrylate which is a compound useful as a raw material for a functional polymer and an intermediate for a medicine or an agrochemical. SOLUTION: The method for producing the tertiary cycloalkyl (meth)acrylate involves reacting a metal alcoholate derivative represented by general formula (1) [wherein, n is an integer of 1-3; R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-6C linear or branched hydrocarbon group; and M is Li or MgX (X is a halogen atom)] with an anhydrous (meth)acrylic acids represented by general formula (2) [wherein, R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a fluorine atom or a trifluoromethyl group].
