PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel triphenylene compound and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The compound represented by general formula (I) is manufactured by causing a compound represented by general formula (III) to react with a compound represented by general formula (IV). In general formula (III), X<SP>1</SP>-X<SP>6</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom and at least one of X<SP>1</SP>-X<SP>6</SP>is either the bromine atom or the iodine atom. In general formula (IV), R<SP>a</SP>, R<SP>b</SP>and R<SP>c</SP>are each independently a 1-10C aliphatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group. In general formula (I), R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>6</SP>are each independently H or a substituent group represented by general formula (II) and at least one of R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>6</SP>is the substituent group represented by general formula (II).
