摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a determination method of the time and the position of an earthquake source by earthquake wave observation data for estimating an earthquake source element and its accuracy by a high-degree arrival/non arrival time method by using one or more earthquake wave observation data. SOLUTION: Concerning one side of a hyperboloid Ci1, a=0 in the case of t=t1, and Ci1 becomes a plane (X=0), and it can be said that the earthquake source is in a domain (Di1) on the point S1 side of a plane of symmetry (X=0) of Si. Also as for an optional observation point Si, since the similar restriction is imposed, the earthquake source is inside a prism which is a common domain of Di1. In this case, as for the depth, a restriction known from an earthquake activity is used. WhenΔt becomes large, Ci1 becomes a sharper curved surface, moves toward the point S1 and shrinks, and thereby the domain Di1 where the earthquake source can exist becomes smaller, and an estimated value becomes more accurate.
