LIGHT EMITTER, AND LUMINESCENT RESIN CONTAINING THE LIGHT EMITTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitter which has good durability and provides blue light from an oxide semiconductor upon irradiation of ultraviolet light. SOLUTION: The light emitter comprises oxide semiconductor particulates confined in an insulating oxide in a dispersed state. The light emitter can be obtained by a sol-gel process in which an organometallic compound is used as a raw material and a suitable dispersant is added to the raw material solution together with the oxide semiconductor particulates such as zinc oxide particulates. A luminescent resin excellent in transparency can be obtained by dispersing the light emitter in a resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
