PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of improving a display state by executing decoding processing by software. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus is provided with a receiving unit (130 or 140) for receiving data, a storage unit (150) for storing a set of decoding software for decoding the received data, a processor (100) for executing the decoding software in cooperation with the storage unit, a display unit (170) for displaying the data decoded by the decoding software, a determination means for determining whether or not the execution processing of the decoding software by the processor satisfies requirements of real-time reproduction, and a recording unit (160) for recording the received data if the determination means determines that the requirements of real-time reproduction are not satisfied.
