PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic apparatus capable of having a position detecting function of the distal end of an insertion part without restricting the layout of the distal end of the insertion part, and therefore, without impairing the function as an endoscope. SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor coil 5 to output signals in response to a sensed magnetism is disposed in the wound state on the outer peripheral part of a distal end body 4, and a magnetic field generating means 60, which generates a magnetic field for making the magnetic sensor coil 5 output position detecting signals in the space where the magnetic sensor coil 5 is disposed, is disposed out of the insertion part.
