<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new food or drink lowering serum cholesterol and originating from catechin. <P>SOLUTION: As a result of the examination of eight kinds of catechins for their serum cholesterol-lowering action, among ester type catechins, above all, non-epimers, (-)Cg and (-)GCg have been found to have more excellent serum cholesterol-lowering effect.
