PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backrest attaching structure of a chair capable of improving the appearance of the chair and improving the workability of attaching a backrest support frame and a back frame. SOLUTION: In the backrest attaching structure in which the backrest support frame 10 and the back frame 9a are fastened with each other by connecting bolts 26, both left and right inner surfaces of the upper part of the backrest support frame 10 are spread open upwards and formed into an upward inclination support surface 10d and a female threaded hole 10f opened only to the upward inclination support surface 10d is formed on the backrest support frame 10. The outer side face of the lower part of the back frame 9a is formed into a downward inclination surface 9b to be supported which can be fitted to the upward inclination support surface 10d from the above and a through-hole 9d passing through the lower part of the back frame 9a is formed. By inserting the connecting bolt 26 from the inner surface of the lower part of the back frame to the through-hole 9d to be thread-fitted to the female threaded hole 10f, the backrest support frame 10 and the back frame 9a are connected to each other.
