摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery with a high capacity and excellent cycle characteristics as well as an anode active material used for it. <P>SOLUTION: The anode 22 contains an anode active material capable of reacting with lithium. The anode active material layer contains tin as a first constituent element, a second constituent element, and a third constituent element, of which the second constituent element is at least a kind out of a group consisting of born, carbon, aluminum, and phosphorus, and the third constituent element is a kind out of a group consisting of silicon, magnesium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, gallium, zirconium, niobium, molybdenum, silver, indium, cerium, hafnium, tantalum, tungsten, and bismuth.
