<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium which has high sensitivity and excellent resistance to head tailings deposition and sticking. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal recording medium with a thermal color developing layer containing a colorless or pale-color basic colorless dye and an organic developer as main components, formed on a support, an inorganic fine particle silica composite particle is contained which is formed by adding/dispersing an inorganic fine particle in an aqueous silicic acid alkali solution, thus preparing a slurry, adding an acid at 60 to 100°C maintained slurry temperatures, while thermally stirring, forming a silica sol, and finally setting the pH value of a final reaction solution within the range of neutrality to weak alkalinity. The inorganic fine particle is a calcium carbonate, talc, clay, kaolin, a calcinated kaolin, a titanium dioxide or an aluminum hydroxide alone or a mixture of not less than two selected from this group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
