PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to independently adjust ovality and astigmatism in designing an electron gun and also obtain an electron beam hardly varying in the ovality and astigmatism when an electron beam current is varied. SOLUTION: In an electron gun triode for a cathode-ray tube, a cathode has a projected emission zone disposed around a Z axis of the electron gun and advancing toward a first electrode.
