PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight inspection apparatus and an airtight inspection method for performing an airtight inspection by blocking the opening of an object easily and reliably without increasing the size of the apparatus and installation costs. SOLUTION: The airtight inspection apparatus 1 for inspecting airtightness in internal spaces 101, 102 of the object 100 is provided with an air spring 44 for pressing a masking section 3 for blocking openings 101a, 101b, 102a, 102b in the object to the object. The airtight inspection apparatus comprises a cylinder 41 for allowing the air spring to advance to or retreat from the object; and fixing members 43, 43, 43, 43 for fixing the air spring at a prescribed position.
