PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-frequency heater with a steam generation function allowing proper heat treatment, by measuring accurately a temperature of a heated object, capable of securing the maximum heating efficiency within rated electric power, and capable of enhancing using convenience, and a control method therefor. SOLUTION: In this control method for the high-frequency heater with the steam generation function for supplying a high frequency and steam to a heating chamber storing the heated object to heat-treat the heated object, air in the heating chamber is circulated while stirring the air, and the temperature of the heated object is detected by a temperature sensor due to infrared ray detection, when carrying out individually in order or concurrently the high-frequency heat treatment of the heat treatment by the high frequency, and the steam heat treatment of the heat treatment by the steam supplied into the heating chamber respectively to heat-treat the heated object.
