<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where a processing is performed beforehand when a new image carrier is loaded in place of an old one, and then, a cleaning operation is surely performed. <P>SOLUTION: When it is detected by a photoreceptor drum detection circuit 45 that the new photoreceptor drum is loaded, the pre-rotating operation of the new photoreceptor drum is started by a recording control part 40. By performing the pre-rotating operation, countless fine scratches are formed on the surface of the new photoreceptor drum due to the contact of the developing roller 33, a transfer roller 20 and the cleaning roller 35 with the photoreceptor drum, and the proper roughness is formed on the surface as compared with the initial state of the mirror-finished surface. Thus, the sticking force of the mirror-finished surface is reduced by the proper roughness, then, the cleaning operation is surely performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
