PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drop-in type glass top cooking stove having a metal protecting ring mounted at the mouth edge of a burner opening provided in a glass top plate and a top plate supporting member fixed to a stove body in opposition to a lower flange portion of the protecting ring for restricting the downward flexion of the top plate, the top plate supporting member being used for positioning the top plate on the stove body in an easily non-removable manner. SOLUTION: The top plate supporting member 10 has a rising portion 101 formed to be inserted into the burner opening 3a along a cylindrical portion 91 of the protecting ring 9. The rising portion 101 functions as a positioning guide portion when the top plate 3 is positioned on the stove body 2.
