PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor of high reliability capable of detecting lubricating oil level surely and accurately. SOLUTION: Two thermistors are provided in an oil reservoir part in the hermetic compressor, one of thermistor is provided near a bottom part of the compressor and another thermistor is provided near set oil level. A electricity carry means carrying electricity to the thermistor, a measuring means measuring voltage of the thermistor, a means storing voltage measured by the measuring means and a timer means performing measurement by the measuring means every fixed time are provided to detect level of lubricating oil in the compressor by change of measured thermistor voltage by time.
