PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sliding the seat of a chair back and forth with a small number of components, which can be easily assembled in a short time and be advantageous in terms of costs. SOLUTION: Seat support rods 15 in front and back directions are provided on the left and right parts of a support base attached to the upper end of the shaft of the chair, the upper parts of the seat support rods 15 are fitted so as to be slid in the front and back directions to recessed line receiving parts 25 integrally formed at the time of molding a seat shell on the left and right lower surfaces of the seat shell and opened downwards, and a means for preventing detachment of the fitting, for instance the means for preventing the detachment constituted of a locking piece 29 of the seat support rod 15 and a piece 27 to be locked of the recessed line receiving part 25, is provided.
