1318813 Diagnostic composition PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 19 May 1971 [22 May 1970] 15769/71 Heading A5B [Also in Division G6] A radioactive diagnostic composition containing colloidal sulphur and macroaggregates of serum albumin labelled with Tc 99m is prepared by adding to powdered serum albumin a compound which produces colloidal sulphur, a pertechnetate compound containing Tc 99m, and an acid, allowing to stand, and adjusting the pH to 4-8. Radioactive sodium pertechnetate and HCl are added to a mixture of powdered serum albumin and sodium thiosulphate which have been formed by freeze drying processes. The pH may be adjusted by addition of sodium succinate or trihydroxymethylaminomethane. The composition is injected and the macroaggregates retained in the capillary system of the lungs are detected by scintillation. The invention also includes a pre-preparation pack for preparing the composition. |
