The method is for screening against weather and wind with an installation incorporated on a gable (1) or roof edge of a building (0). A work platform is fixed on a suspension construction capable of at least vertical displacement of the work platform along the gable or positioning of a rolling ladder. A fixture construction (3) is then installed against the gable and roof edge from the platform or rolling ladder. An elastic or outwardly foldable screening material such as a watertight sheet (2) is attached to the fixture construction close to the gable. The platform or roller ladder is placed between the sheet and the gable. The sheet is drawn, folded or pushed around (also during the movement of) the work platform or rolling ladder.
