CELL-FREEZING APPARATUS AND FREEZING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and means capable of freezing a cell without using an antifreezing agent by rapidly speeding up freezing rate of the cell to the utmost limit and capable of freezing the cell without keeping a biochemical state immediately before freezing the cell. SOLUTION: A method for freezing a sample comprises pressurizing a solution containing the sample to 0.1-0.2 GPa while keeping a temperature range of (a phase transition temperature of ice-I and liquid water) +4°C in a state in which a vapor phase does not exist and then suddenly reducing the pressure.
