PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive unit capable of making a lens frame which turns into a moving disabled state restored to a normal photographic position, while realizing miniaturization. SOLUTION: The lens drive unit is equipped with a lens frame 10 holding a lens G, a fixed frame 20, having a fitting supporting part 24 in which the lens frame 10 is fit to freely slide and supported in an optical axis direction; a switching ring 30, supported to freely turn around an optical axis and turning for switching the photographing position in the optical axis direction of the lens frame 10; and a cam 31 or the like, formed on the switching ring 30 and making cam action act in the optical axis direction so that the photographing position can be switched, and is provided with a projection 32, capable of pressing out the lens frame 10 over an area on which the cam action acts by the turning of the switching ring 30 with respect to the cam 31. By such constitution, the lens frame which cannot slide in the fitting supporting part is easily restored to a slidable state, while realizing miniaturization of the unit.
